Coherence Based Polarimetric SAR Tomography
نویسنده
چکیده
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) three dimensional image provides the scene reflectivity along azimuth, range and elevation coordinates. This 3-D image is formed from acquisition of multiple signals from different orbits. Tomographic reconstruction of this image gives the vertical information of the object present in the data. Polarization Coherence Tomography (PCT) is used for estimation of vertical profile from multibaseline E-SAR Lband data of oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. In this paper, an approach is proposed for ground phase and temporal decorrelation estimation. This is done with respective to Random Volume over Ground inversion procedures. The value of this ground phase and temporal decorrelation is given as the additional input to PCT for accurate height Estimation. Height estimated from PCT approach is validated with height estimated from ASTER DEM data.

New opportunities are arising in the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) observation of forest scenarios, especially with decimetric and metric radio wavelengths, which possess the capability of penetrating into volumes. Given its capabilities in the three-dimensional imaging of the scattering properties of the observed scene, SAR Tomography (Tomo-SAR) constitutes a good candidate for the analysis o...
متن کاملInformation Extraction from Tomographic SAR Data
This paper describes the extraction of information from polarimetric tomographic SAR data. This analysis is performed in three steps. Polarimetric tomographic data are first processed using a Capon-based vectorial spectral analysis technique, in order to extract physical and geometrical information over vertical structures. Then, a feature detection procedure with automatic scale selection is a...
متن کاملInterferometric coherence optimization using the polarimetric signatures
The coherence optimization based on the eigenvalues in radar polarimetry is used to enhance the quality of SAR interferograms. A second and an alternative coherence optimization algorithm which consists in looking at the possible coherence for every combination of elliptical polarizations extracted from the polarimetric signatures and selecting the highest one is also developed, tested and comp...
متن کاملRadiometric Issues in Adaptive Polarimetric Sar Tomography
Multibaseline (MB) SAR tomography (Tomo-SAR) is an advanced mode of SAR interferometry, allowing full 3D imaging of volumetric and layover scatterers along the azimuth, range and height dimensions. Recently, this technique has also been extended in a polarimetric sense (PolTomo-SAR), exploiting MB SAR data acquired with different polarization channels. In this way, the joint estimation is possi...

SAR Coherent Change Detection (CCD) is a technique that exploits the sensitivity of the transduced SAR image phase and speckle pattern to detect subtle scene disturbanes that may occur in the interval between a repeat pass imaging collection. Polarimetric SAR provides additional scene information that may be exploited to provide enhanced CCD products and yield improved detection performance. In...
متن کاملDetection of the Coherent Scatterers using Sub-Aperture Polarimetric SAR data: the Preliminary Results
The objective of this paper is to assess the sub-aperture analysis technique for the detection of coherent scatterers (CSs) using polarimetric SAR data. The non normalized coherence is used to greatly improve the contrast between the clutter and the target, since it can preserve the strong intensity information of the target. Furthermore, by applying a way similar to the polarimetric interferom...
